What We Do

We address the issues that profoundly affect our work: access to supportive community and healthcare, state and community violence, and cultural stigma surrounding the sex industry.

We center the voices of street-based sex workers in our messaging, and work towards making our activities and advocacy more inclusive, accessible, and relevant to this population.

We employ a broad range of tactics and strategies—from programs and education, to advocacy— while working closely with other national and international sex workers’ rights organizations.

PROGRAMS

We are devoted to the supporting and ensuring the inclusion of all individuals involved in the Chicagoland sex trade.

Our programs– including street outreach, housing and legal aid– were intentionally and lovingly created to address the various threats of criminalization that sex workers face.

  • In September 2013, we began conducting street outreach to help meet the immediate needs of street-based workers. We provide harm reduction supplies and direct services, as well as aid facilitated through our various community partners.

  • Since 2014, we have operated a free legal clinic in partnership with Beyond Legal Aid (formerly Community Activism Law Alliance) to aid those impacted by the stigma and criminalization of sex work. Through this mutually beneficial program, we offer free legal services and education to current and former sex workers, with an emphasis on supporting transgender people, those who are HIV positive, and those who have experienced homelessness within the past year.

  • In 2022, we partnered with NeighborScapes to provide housing to sex workers experiencing housing insecurity for up to one year through our referral process facilitated by Cupcake Girls. Upon onboarding, we connect participants with Chicago Furniture Bank to procure free furniture to support access needs and comfort.

We pride ourselves in the knowledge of our lived experiences to inform the community and organizations on what is needed to increase our safety and bring awareness.

We develop and facilitate educational trainings through two sectors:

EDUCATION

  • We curate political education series as a community activation and engagement tool. To attend our next webinar, check out our events page.

  • We offer cultural competency workshops to healthcare providers, legal professionals, researchers, and academics who serve the sex working population through PROS Network.

ADVOCACY

We act as a thought partner and collaborator across various political campaigns and movement building strategies, utilizing the expertise and lived experience of our incredible team to ensure the voices of sex workers in the legislation that implicates our lives.

We have served on various coalitions including End Money Bond, as well as the Illinois Decrim Coalition since 2019.

Thank you to our supporters!
